When it comes to wedding days, many couples envision clear skies, warm sunshine, and picturesque landscapes. However, nature doesn't always cooperate with our plans. Rain on your wedding day might not be what you had in mind, but it can still be magical and romantic, especially in the setting of an English countryside at Bruisyard Country Estate. This will help you navigate through every aspect of planning a rainy wedding day, ensuring that your special day remains unforgettable, rain or shine.
Embracing Rain: The Unique Charm of Rainy Weddings
Rainy weddings have a charm of their own, exuding an enchanting ambience that's hard to replicate. The sound of gentle raindrops on the lush greenery, the fresh scent of wet earth, and the cosy atmosphere under elegant marquees, and big umbrellas, can make your wedding even more memorable. Embrace the uniqueness of a rainy wedding day and create unforgettable memories for you and your guests. This is what Sophie and Catherine did for their day. They totally embraced it and just had a fantastic time.
DON'T FORGET IT IS GOOD LUCK FOR IT TO RAIN ON YOUR WEDDING DAY
Let me tell you a little bit about these two AMAZING LADIES! They are the perfect couple. I feel super lucky to have met them both. Sophie is the sweetest and so kind and Catherine kept me laughing all day.
How they meet -
Catherine was working at the school where Sophie did her teacher training placement at. They were introduced to each other through our now mutual friend and bridesmaid, Rachel. They were friends for a couple of years and then they went on a group holiday to New York for New Year. After some alcohol and some outrageous flirting, they started seeing each other when they got back home and things went from there and now it is too late to turn back.
How long have they been together -
5 years and 7 months by the time they got married
Who proposed to who?
Catherine proposed to Sophie on a surprise trip to Iceland (the country, not the supermarket). They were on a trip to see the northern lights and were standing in the freezing cold at 11.30 pm, waiting to hopefully see the northern lights. Unfortunately, they did not appear, however, a ring did!
I always ask all my couples some questions to help new couples
1. Why did you pick the venue you pick for your special day?
It is stunning. We also liked that we have exclusive use of the grounds for the whole weekend.
2. Why did you choose the colours for your wedding day?
We argued about everything else but both liked the boldness of navy and white together.
3. What was the biggest challenge when planning your wedding day?
Making decisions when neither of us has done this before and we are rubbish at decisions!
4. Now that your special day is nearly here, what TOP TIP would you give other couples to help when they are planning their wedding day?
Don't wait to book suppliers. Go with your gut and trust your instincts.
Choosing Bruisyard Country Estate: A Dreamy Venue for Rainy Weddings
Selecting the perfect venue for your rainy English country wedding is crucial, and Bruisyard Country Estate stands out as an idyllic choice. Surrounded by picturesque Suffolk countryside, this historic estate offers stunning indoor and outdoor spaces, ensuring a seamless transition in case of rain. With its grand halls, charming cottages, and breathtaking gardens, the estate provides an exquisite backdrop for your magical wedding.
The staff were fantastic and with a very quick turn round of the ceremony room whilst guests grabbed a drink and canape in the courtyard/garden whilst it wasn't raining. It was ready in no time for guests to gather as the rain came down. The Barn was perfect for all the guests to enjoy the day in, with the rain outside and the beautiful setting in the barn it was just perfect.
Stress-Free Logistics: Planning for Weather Contingencies
Preparation is key to ensuring a stress-free rainy wedding day. Have a backup plan in place, including arrangements for umbrellas, guest transportation, and efficient communication with vendors. Share the contingency plans with your wedding party and vendors to ensure a seamless experience.
Rain-Ready Entertainment: Keeping the Celebration Alive
Rainy wedding days call for entertaining activities that keep the celebration alive and spirits high. Arrange for indoor games, photo booths, or even a dance-off to keep your guests engaged and entertained. Don't let the rain dampen the joyful atmosphere.
Conclusion
Embrace the beauty and uniqueness of a rainy wedding day. With careful planning, creative ideas, and a positive attitude, your wedding will be a cherished memory for both you and your guests. Don't let a little rain dampen your spirits; instead, let it add a touch of magic to your special day, or something to laugh about in the years to come.
